Quinlan: Dear dad

I need more than one day a year to celebrate you and what you mean to me.

Watching you become a grandparent has been magical. You’ve taken to the role so naturally. I can’t wait to watch you teach them all the important stuff: how to build fires, play guitar and go to church.

I wish you could see yourself from my eyes. I see you as a great, selfless man with a giant heart. You are smart, imaginative and funny. You help and give and love. You know how to make great memories.

I’m 30, but I still want to be like you when I grow up.

Everything I am, you and mom helped me to be.
