Growmark Foundation announces scholarship recipients

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Fifteen agriculture students have been selected as the fourth class of recipients of the Growmark Foundation scholarship.

More than 260 students from across the United States and Ontario, Canada, applied for the award. Applications were evaluated by a panel of agribusiness professionals, and the funds are available for the fall 2020 semester.

“We are pleased to provide financial support to these 15 outstanding students,” said Amy Bradford, Growmark manager, corporate communications and manager of the Growmark Foundation.

Students awarded scholarships are:

• Lindsey Aden, St. Joseph, Illinois — agribusiness and political science at the University of Georgia.

• Mallory Ames, St. Joseph, Illinois — agribusiness and agricultural communications at the University of Illinois.

• Isaac Brockman, Verona, Illinois — agribusiness at Illinois State University.

• Amelia Hayden, Sharon, Wisconsin — agricultural education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

• Awna Hirsch, Eaton, Colorado — animal science at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

• Parker Karrick, Patoka, Illinois — agribusiness at Murray State University.

• Karson Kimpling, Flanagan, Illinois — agricultural leadership, education and communications at the University of Illinois.

• Seth Mitchell, Olney, Illinois — animal science at the University of Illinois.

• Kade Portz, Marissa, Illinois — agricultural systems technology at Murray State University.

• Jackie Rosenbush, Sarona, Wisconsin — agricultural education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

• Eric Schafer, Owaneco, Illinois — animal science at Butler College.

• Jessica Schmitt, Fort Atkinson, Iowa — dairy science, agricultural communications and international agriculture at Iowa State University.

• Benjamin Styer, Menomonie, Wisconsin — animal science/dairy and agriculture and food business management at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

• Mason Tarr, Sanger, California — agribusiness at Fresno State University.

• Travis Wilke, Olney, Illinois — crop sciences at Lake Land College.
