INDIANAPOLIS — The 2019 annual conference of the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts will be Jan. 14-15 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.

“We have a great lineup of topics and speakers this year,” said Joe Schmees, executive director for IASWCD.

Keynote speaker will be Chad Pregracke, the founder and president of Living Lands and Waters, as well as the 2013 CNN Hero of the Year.

“Pregracke has spoken at the conference before, but he has grown in notoriety over the years, and we decided to invite him back to be our keynote speaker this year,” Schmees said.

Schmees said breakout sessions which will focus on district management, outreach education and conservation work.

There also will be a legislative breakfast and an awards luncheon which will honor friends of Indiana conservation.

“The conference is a good opportunity for farmers and IASWCD supervisors from all 92 counties to mix together while talking and learning about conservation,” Schmees said.
