PENFIELD, Ill. — Fans of the Minneapolis and Moline equipment can look forward to the Prairie Gold Rush magazine’s annual summer convention in Illinois next year.

Set for the second full weekend in July 2020 in Penfield, Editor Cheryl DeLap said she’s looking forward to “having the show local, which is very wonderful for me.”

DeLap’s office is headquartered in Champaign County, roughly 30 miles southwest of Penfield.

The 2019 Prairie Gold Rush Summer Convention is Sept. 5-9 in Boonville, Missouri, and in 2018 was in August in South Dakota. DeLap said the venues and hosting clubs rotate around the country each year.

DeLap is the third editor for the quarterly magazine and its first woman editor. The magazine was founded in 1988 as “the first brand specific magazine,” she said.

Specializing in news and features and photographs on the M-M equipment lines, the magazine started as a newsletter. Once in DeLap’s hands, more magazine-like features were added, such as a table of contents, slick paper to highlight full-color photos and a digital presence with a website and Facebook pages.

She urges readers and M-M fans alike to watch for details for the 2020 show on the website, www.prairiegoldrush.com.
