TRAFALGAR, Ind. — Indiana FFA recently installed the 2019-2020 state officer team, and for the first time in nearly a decade, a male is standing behind the president’s podium.
Dillon Muhlenkamp of the Jay County FFA is serving as the new Indiana FFA state president.
Muhlenkamp said he is excited to be serving as the first male Indiana FFA state president in nearly a decade.
“The past nine state FFA presidents were amazing and did their part for the Indiana FFA. I’m excited to do my part,” he said.
Muhlenkamp said he is looking forward to showing a united front representing Indiana FFA with his fellow teammates and those involved in the agriculture industry.
The last male president to lead the organization was Travis Martin in 2009-2010.
Martin said the fact that he was the last male president is a testament to the great female student leaders produced by the Indiana FFA.
“Indiana FFA has had a lot of female state officers throughout the years,” he said.
Martin said he wishes Dillon and his whole team the best of luck in the coming year.
“I can’t wait to meet him at the Indiana FFA State Convention next year,” Martin said, adding that at next year’s state FFA convention, he and his teammates will celebrate their 10-year anniversary since their year of service as state officers.
