Rain, rain, go away. Please comeback another day, like July or August. That would be great because planting season is, oh, so late. Between “Lake Woe Is Me” and “Lake Please Be Gone,” which dot almost every field, we are wet.
I drove through southern GibsonCounty last week and saw several fields of cantaloupe planted or ready to plant. This was a very encouraging sight amid the unplanted corn and bean ground. Gardeners are finding it difficult to get started due to the wet conditions.
While Sunday and Monday were gorgeous days, they are predicting rain for the next three days with a chance of severe weather on Thursday. All in all, life is good, if you have patience and faith that all things happen for a reason. Until next week, try to stay dry and be careful.
