When I was in school, we would read about all these things that had happened in history. What I always wondered was what it was like to have been living in those times and live through it. Well, we are living through some very big events that will be talked about in the history books, hopefully. We have been very fortunate to have a few good days to get back in the fields. So far, we’re over 50% planted, as I write this.
Considering how close some guys are to us that haven’t done anything, we feel very blessed. Conditions haven’t been perfect, but better than a lot of areas. I traveled to Bio Town Ag in Reynolds, Indiana, the other day for a meeting. I was surprised to see so little crop planted. Pretty much north of Indianapolis, there was water standing everywhere — not real ideal to be trying to plant a crop.
Everybody has been on edge and sleep deprived, either from stress of not working or stress of working too much. As this story for the history books unfolds, let’s all remember generations before have survived, and we will to. Take it a day at a time is all we can do. The good Lord will take care of us.
