Seems like this merry-go-round we’re on isn’t slowing down anytime soon. As soon as we get one thing dealt with, we’re on to the next. It’s been a couple busy weeks of spraying fungicide on corn, spraying beans, respraying beans, and getting tile and dirt work done. Sorry about missing last week. Monday morning just got away from me. We have changed our plans on fungicide and stuff this year. We have pulled back on several acres due to the drought that seems to be settling in. There is disease pressure on the crop. But at this point we’re not sure the added investment is worth the return. Normally, we would be prepping combines and trucks, considering we’re only 30 days away from our normal start date. Not sure when we will start but it will be late for sure.
We have been busy finishing prepping for a meeting at our farm shop on Aug. 21. We will be hosting Greg Pence to discuss ag policy. If you’re in his district or in the area that day, it will be from 4-6. Feel free to reach out and let me know as we want to make sure we have room and seats for everyone. It is being hosted by the corn and soy checkoffs.
Be sure and step off the merry-go-round once in a while for your own well being. Gotta take care of yourself and your family. The work will always be there when you get back to it.
