PONTIAC, Ill. — Livingston County’s Ag Literacy Partnership will host a “get-a-grant” workshop Sept. 11.

This event will provide K-8 teachers with all the specifics needed to apply for Illinois Ag in the Classroom’s Classroom Project and Special Book Grants and be held at the Livingston County Farm Bureau, 901 W. Howard St., Pontiac.

This free workshop will have participants engaging in hands-on activities and demonstrations that complement and connect Common Core Standards with books for children and young adults from authors such as Gail Gibbons, Peggy Thomas, Tish Rabe, Peter Menzel and many more.

Each participant will receive an activity lesson booklet, as well as other resources to enhance the classroom’s agriculture learning experience.

The doors for this workshop will open at 3:30 pm for participants to have a light snack, review make-and-take ideas and to shop from the free resources table.

Register by Sept. 6 by contacting Debbie Ruff at 815-844-6127, ext. 3, or debra.ruff@il.nacdnet.net.
