EFFINGHAM, Ill. — CommoditAg has named John Demerly as its chief executive officer.

I look forward to leading the growth of the organization while expanding our market footprint and broader choice for farmers,” Demerly said in a statement.
Growing up on a farm, Demerly has spent the majority of his 22-year career working in all facets of the agriculture industry, including leadership roles at Corteva AgriScience, Adayana Agribusiness Group and the Indiana FFA Organization.
His past experiences include category and brand development and leadership of major industry brands, sales leadership of both seed and crop protection organizations, leadership of industry-wide-strategic plans including Soy 2020 Vision and the Illinois Agriculture strategic plan, and providing strategic consulting expertise to numerous global agriculture organizations.
He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from Purdue University and an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
His board of directors experience includes the Agricultural Retailers Association and Purdue University College of Agriculture Dean’s Advisory Council, among other volunteer organizations.
CommoditAg is a user-friendly website which allows growers to order crop protection and plant nutrition products directly to their door or to one of the many cooperating facilities for easy pick-up.
