SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Land of Lincoln Purebred Livestock Breeders Association’s annual meeting will Dec. 2 at Northfield Inn, Springfield.

The annual meeting, which begins at 11 a.m., will include guest speakers from the state Department of Agriculture, FFA, 4-H and others. It also will include the announcement of the scholarship winner and a lunch.

Purebred livestock breeders throughout Illinois are invited.

The association represents all breeds of purebred livestock in the state, and its mission is to stimulate and encourage better breeding livestock in Illinois and foster a social interest among breeders and breed groups.

In addition, the association supports education and programs for Illinois students interested in Illinois livestock and awards annual educational scholarships to youths.

The association also supports the management of the Illinois State Fair to ensure that it remains the best purebred livestock fair in the nation and recognizes present purebred livestock breeders for their contributions to the industry.
