FREEPORT, Ill. — The Stephenson County Fair will kick off with Youth Night on Tuesday, July 9, at 6 p.m. at the grandstand.

The fair, set for July 9 through July 13, will feature a 4-H Parade of Excellence and Ag Olympics sponsored by the Stephenson County Farm Bureau, followed by Bulls ‘n Barrels Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.

Tyler Rich with special guests Brown & Gray and Back Country Roads will perform at the grandstand at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13.

The U.S. Nationals FMX Freestyle Motocross Thrill Show with celebrity guest judges will thrill the grandstand crowds on Wednesday, July 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Several tractor and truck pulls will be held on Thursday and Friday of the fair. Those attending can receive a 20% discount on the ticket price when purchasing all pulls at the same time.

The pulling competitions will kick off with the 540 Light Pro Tractors and Light Limited Super Stock Tractors at noon on Thursday, July 11.

The evening event competition features Champion Tour Super Modified Tractors, Champion Tour Unlimited Super Stock Tractors, Silver Series Limited Pro Stock Tractors, Pro Stock Tractors and Farm Stock Tractors.

Friday events begin at noon with 640 Pro Farm Tractors, Econo Mini-Rod Tractors, Open Mini-Rod Tractors and Limited Pro Diesel Trucks. The evening show, starting at 6 p.m. features Champion Tour Pro Stock Tractors, Champion Tour Unlimited Super Stock Tractors, Champion Tour Hot Rod Semis and Street Stock Pickup Trucks.

Free daily shows are planned at the Rest & Entertainment Tent, including the Queen’s Pageant on Tuesday, July 9 at 5 p.m. Bands performing at the tent include Just for Kicks, The Real Deal, Spotted Dog and Laura Rae & The Backroads Trio.

Fairgoers will enjoy many other daily activities including the racing pigs, carnival rides, the Farm Fun Zone and commercial exhibits.

The Kiddie Tractor Pull is planned for Saturday, July 13, in the Citizens State Bank Swine Show Ring. Parents can register their children at 12:30 p.m. with the pull to begin at 1 p.m. This fun event is sponsored by Stephenson County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.

Gates open for the fair daily at 8 a.m. Admission is $5 for visitors 6 years and older, and kids 5 and under are free. Season passes are $20.
