PRINCETON, Ill. – Youth ages 5 to 12 are invited to join University of Illinois Extension in a fun, educational Nature Detective Camp. The camp will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Bureau County Extension office, 850 Thompson St., Princeton.
This free half-day camp will offer hands-on activities for youth to learn about nature, birds, monarchs, and more. Youth will explore both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.
“Nature Detective Camp will be a great opportunity for area youth to experience a variety of activities related to nature,” said Danielle Saletzki, University of Illinois Extension 4-H & Youth Program Coordinator. “Participants will leave with not only new knowledge of the world around them, but also handmade items to enjoy at home.”
Interested youth may register by visiting http://go.illinois.edu/naturecamp or by calling 815-875-2878. Deadline to register is Aug. 1.
Illinois 4-H is the largest out-of-school youth organization in Illinois, challenging youth to “learn by doing” with fun, hands-on activities that teach skills for living.
