CROWN POINT, Ind. — The Lake County Fair will be held Aug. 2-11 in scenic Crown Point.
Animal lovers can watch baby livestock being born at the fair this year.
“For the first time, we are having a MOOternity Ward, which is a livestock nursery in our dairy barn,” said Arlene Marcinek, spokesperson from Lake County Fair.
“We are hoping for daily live births for cattle, as well as sheep. Offspring will also be available for viewing from noon on Monday, Aug. 5 to Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10 p.m. The piglet nursery will be available to see every day of the fair.”
The fair also will feature monster trucks, tractor pulls, demolition derbies and other extreme sports at the Grandstand.
“We have a free exhibition in our Grandstand of Super Cross racing by Martin Xtreme on preview night, Thursday, Aug. 1,” Marcinek said. “Gates open at 5 p.m. to the fair, and the show starts at 6 p.m.
“We are also excited about the Three Bar J Ranch Rodeo being put on in our Grandstand on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. There will be a meet and greet with some of the contestants at 6 p.m. for ticketholders.”
The Under the Lights Truck and Tractor Pull will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.
