My last few blogs have revolved around Thanksgiving — my favorite holiday, so I had to squeeze in one more blog.
This year my family and I have so, so much to be thankful for. It’s hard to limit it to a few things, but here is my list for the year:
1. My mom is in remission from stage three lymphoma. Her latest scan showed that, after her midpoint of chemo, the cancer is virtually gone. If I had nothing else to be thankful for, this would be enough. It’s such a relief, such a weight lifted from my family’s shoulders. We are so thankful for the doctors and for, who we believe to be the Great Physician, our heavenly Father.
2. The support system I have in my life. Since my mom has been sick, my co-workers, friends, family and even strangers have come out of the woodwork to support my family. They’ve cooked us meals, given gifts, texted to check in and stopped by just to say hi. I’m blown away by how many people care.
3 Farmers. Every Thanksgiving I dedicate time to reflect on and thank farmers for their work. It’s because of them that I have a pantry full of food, affordable and healthy meals and even my job. I truly believe that so many times we take all of this granted. Farmers are the backbone of our country. Without them, we’d have noting.
