For the past few years, I’ve watched as students from around the country explore downtown Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention.
I’ve watched them volunteer at food pantries, speak in front of large crowds and laugh with their friends.
So many memories and friendships are made at this event. So many shells are broken. So many people think “out of the box.”
This year, my co-worker Ashley and I sat down with another ag journalist to talk about these amazing students. We are inspired by them — by their hard work and professionalism. We wish every student had the opportunity to be involved in FFA.
The kids inspire the adults. That’s how I know FFA is doing something right.
At the end of the day, I hope these students leave with a broader view of agriculture and a long list of new friends.
