This year’s State Fair is one I’ll remember for a long time. It was hot and traffic was a nightmare due to road closures — but the fair experience was fun, educational and memorable.

I interviewed heroes, ranging from a policeman to a farmer. I even talked to the Incredible Hulk, although he mostly just grunted and roared.

I had my favorite State Fair food — grilled cheese and a vanilla milkshake from the Dairy Bar.

I saw a 1,900 pound statue made of cheese.

I learned about a diverse number of careers in the agriculture industry.

I watched Indiana leaders talk about agriculture and the future of farming.

I even brought my baby boy to his first-ever State Fair.

And those are just a few of the things I enjoyed.

It’s hard to believe the fair has come and gone, but I look forward, as always, to coming back next year.
