I had the honor of attending one of the best events of the year — Becknology Days in Atlanta, Indiana.

It is a three-day long celebration that brings farmers together to learn about the Indiana-based business. Atlanta hosts the global headquarters for Beck’s Hybrids, a family-owned company that has grown to be the third largest seed company in the United States.

Every year, I spend a day listening to educational seminars, learning about the latest research and watching demonstrations. The newest and best in agriculture is on display.

This year, I saw a drone that had capabilities to spray small, hard-to-access areas and fields. It was incredible.

In the midst of difficult economic times, I found farmers talking and laughing. They brought their families out to eat, play and learn about the latest technology.

Seeing people genuinely enjoying themselves is the best feeling. In a stressful time for farmers, it’s refreshing.

I commend Beck’s for taking the time to connect with their customers and take care of them. I’m confident it makes a difference to each farmer.
