VINCENNES, Ind. (AP) — State police said a man was killed when he turned a farm tractor in front of an approaching train in southwestern Indiana.

The crash happened the evening of May 6 a few miles north of Vincennes. Police said 67-year-old Basil Patrick of Vincennes was driving the tractor on an access road that runs alongside a rail line and turned to cross the tracks as the freight train approached from behind him.

Police said the collision knocked the tractor from the tracks and Patrick was thrown off. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
