INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Agriculture is extending the deadline for three grants that support Indiana’s livestock industry, Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann announced.

The grants include the Indiana Livestock Promotion Grant, the Indiana Livestock Market Development Grant and the 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock Grant. The new deadline for all grant applications is Feb. 14.

The 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock Grant allows a 4-H or FFA chapter to assist fellow students to purchase breeding stock to start a livestock operation or to add animals to an existing operation.

The Indiana Livestock Promotion Grant will be awarded to an organization to support a specific project that will promote the livestock industry in Indiana through shows, sales, exhibitions, conventions or similar events and programs.

The Indiana Livestock Market Development Grant will be awarded to an organization whose proposal best encourages the development of business and industry related to livestock production, processing and distribution.
