It’s a hot one this week. I’m starting to see some corn roll in spots of stress. It’s not the best time for this as most of the corn is tasseling or really close to tassel. We got a half-inch of very isolated rain Monday afternoon, which will help out with this heat. I’m still not seeing any real nitrogen deficiency. There are spots, but very small and could have compaction issues.

Soybeans are looking great. Most are in full bloom. The very early beans are setting pods. Insect pressure in the beans is very low. I’m seeing a few Japanese beetles, but not worrying about them yet.
