This past week, crop dusters were busy in the area applying fungicides to corn that recently tasseled. Temperatures were in the mid 90s with high humidity, which felt very uncomfortable to us, but the corn and beans for the most part seemed to like it and made good progress.

On Saturday evening, we had storms come through the area leaving from half-an-inch to 5-inch totals. Where the larger amounts came down, there were areas of flash flooding and also winds that caused some green snap in corn.

Pest and disease watch has still been very quiet. So far, the only issue that has been noticed is isolated occurrence of frogeye leaf spot in beans and some grey leaf spot in certain varieties of corn. Activities have been mostly post-spraying weed control in soybeans. Have a great week.
