Harvest is a beautiful time of year. While driving down
country roads and soaking up the sun and cool fall breeze, it’s hard not to love
fall time in Indiana.
Wineries and apple orchards are great places to celebrate
autumn. I’ll never forget sitting outside and sipping apple cider at Anderson’s
with my high school friends.
Caramel apples, fresh-picked Golden Delicious, honey sticks
— those tastes always bring me back.
It makes me think of the homecoming football game,
sweatshirts and bonfires. No matter how many years it’s been, these memories
give me goose bumps.
I think orchards and wineries are perfect escapes, and not
just on the weekends. Bringing the family to an orchard for a slushy after
school may be just the mid-week pick-me-up we all need. It’s also a great way to
make memories that will warm you up on a cold winter day later this year.
